HOW YOU GOT INTO BASKETBALL: I was just a normal kid walking by the road and I found people playing so I joined to try out.

With the help of Anthony Williams Kibalama, the Kibuli SS coach for Kibuli, Namagembe started playing in S.1 and has never looked back.

“There have been hardships like having to wake up early when you have training. It’s not easy but if you stay locked in, everything is possible.”

Namagembe has played for Uganda’s U16 and was made captain of the U18 team that won the Fiba U18 Zone V Afrobasket Qualifiers in Kampala.

“I have moved to places, places I would never have gone to if it wasn’t for basketball.”

Namagembe’s father is a teacher at Kibuli SS while the mother is a stay-home mum.
